Sdasa Members and Friends in Christ
SDASA has been
around since 1967 and its mission was to add value to the livelihood of
an
Adventist student in a Non Adventist set up. Ever since its
memorabilia, this
organization has strived to create and sustain an ideology that will
transform
a society that strays away from the norms, beliefs, and behaviors of
our God
design. SDASA still believes to its motto from since its inception,
Secure and use.
This very motto serves to produce a product that would be used to
facilitate
social change.
As the current team
we have been called upon to advocate, mobilize and partner with
likeminded
organizations in pursuit of our vision, empowering students, mobilize
professionals for the healing of the nations…
|
We have been called
upon to facilitate a total transformation of our society through social
justice
including creation of social conscience. SDASA believes that the key to
such a
paradigmatic shift would be God Himself the Creator and maker of men.
Our Society
therefore would need individuals of stature and faith based
organizations to be
able to bring about such a social change.
The Society, we
live in is plagued by many inequalities that has led to morally
degenerated
people, poverty stricken communities and crime riddled streets amongst
others.
This of course is attributed to years of oppression. However, SDASA
still
believes that the devil has managed to hide behind the minds of many
who lead
our society in disarray, away from the moral fabric and generosity, for
the devil
knows once that is advanced, the people would be transformed and
identify themselves
with their maker.
SDASA is better
positioned and placed as a registered Non Profit making organization in
South
Africa to capitalize on making a strong contribution to the society it
lives in.
As a crop of intellectuals who want to make a contribution to society,
SDASA
has embarked on mastering six apex pillars:
- Education: The approach
here is to foster a program on “Each one Teach One”
project. This project is
two pronged with one arm as “Adopt a Child” and the other
one as Project 10 000
- Campus ministries: The
approach is to transfer skills from
Professionals to Students through various programs like Mentorships,
networks
forums, professional societies, etc in bridging the gap between a
student life and
professional life and thereby contribute to social change.
- Health: This is to lead a
God fearing lifestyle. A lifestyle penned down by the pioneers of the
Adventist
church like Ellen G White. The programmes pioneered include, Health
expos,
Nutritional Campaigns, HIV & AIDS workshops and seminars.
- Moral Regeneration: This
is gives sense to a lost generation of our society with programs to
speaks to
reason for existence in this world. Instilling Cultural values and also
partner
governments program.
- Professional: These are
mobilized to plough back to the society and also contribute to thinking
or intellectual
activism.
- Social
Development: We seek to respond to poverty by implanting programs like
Food
Gardens, food parcels, project management skills to NGO’s to name
but the
least.
